A delight for the senses

Between 01 May 2008 and 01 May 2008, in Kent

Young volunteers helped to clear a garden for elderly patients in a care centre in Tenterden.

Twenty young people from Homewood School turned up in May to show off their green-fingered skills at Tenterden's West View care centre.

Gordon Shepherd of Shaw Healthcare which runs the home said: 'This garden is really important for people with dementia, who can often spend a lot of time indoors. Being outside keeps their senses active and gives them some freedom.'
