Party Time
Between 24 October 2008 and 24 October 2008, in Kent
Students at a local KCC Alternative Curriculum Programme planned and hosted a Disney party for 5-7 year olds from local schools.
The young volunteers were responsible for everything from designing and sending the invitations to making the food and planning the games.
Each school selected the pupils which they thought wouldn't usually get the opportunity to attend such an event, meaning that the party made a real difference to the children whilst providing great experience for the ACP students.
The party was a huge success and was enjoyed just as much by the volunteers as it was the children who attended. We played Pass the parcel, Pin the tail on Eeyore, Find Nemo and one of the volunteers did some face painting. After a traditional party tea of sandwiches, cakes, jelly and ice cream, the children all left with party bags and smiles, leaving the tired, but satisfied volunteers to clean up the mess!
