Broke and Broken - Students in the Red Engage the Public on Big Red Bus

Over 20 Agents4Change volunteers from Liverpool's three univerisites - University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores, and Hope - took to the streets of the city yesterday, for a day of campiagning about the financial crisis facing students at the moment.

The volunteers drove around Liverpool in a big red bus. Here they met members of the public, inviting them onboard to discuss their campaign, tuition fees, student debt, and asked people to sign postcards to lobby their MPs.

The tour took in Calderstones School, where pupils looking forward to A-Levels and beyond, were talked to about their financial future and asked to join the campaign.

The day was organised by leaders from the three student unions. University of Liverpool Guild of Students President, Danielle Grufferty, expressed her delight at the sucess of the day.

"In this national campaign, Liverpool activists put on the biggest day. We got hundreds of postcards signed, which hope to include the NUS in the next round of discussion on the future of top-up fees.  We appeared on many local radio stations or newspapers, and this is a campaign which will run and run."

University of Liverpool Fundraising Coordinator, Jennifer Anderson, 28, thanked all the Agents4Change volunteers for being so committed to this cause.

THIS IS A CONTINUING CAMPAIGN! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING THIS CAMPAIGN, PLEASE EMAIL TO GET INVOLVED.
