Agents4Change will be gathering on Plymouth High Street on November 29th to take part in 'Sac It In' - a carrier bag Amnesty.
Sac it in campaign is to raise awareness and change consumer opinion on the use of plastic bags. Everyone is encouraged to bring any plastic bags they have lying around to be reused or recycled. Alongside this there will be loads of activities where people young or old will be able to reuse the bags and make decorations, placemats etc and have the opportunity to contribute to a "community quilt" to be displayed at a later date.
For getting involved and bringing your bags you will receive a very stylish locally made linnen bag. The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress have agreed to be present along many other special guests. A local junk band in association with Plymouth Music zone will be playing and running workshops from 11am.

A team of hooded volunteers will be engaging with the public in an effort to curb the growing bias against young culture as being feral. Young people from all across England have been asked what can be done to give young kids the best start in life? Now is the time to tell the public. Volunteers will be handing out fortune cookies with concerns and problems young people are facing, and asking the public view on kids these days.
This should be a well covered event by the press and should be well worth your time.

Domestic Violence and Honour Killings
Between 24 November 2008 and 08 March 2009, in Leicester
Agent Fazz and Domestic Violence Response Integrated Project (DVRIP) are joining in partnership to create a project that will create a major difference to not only a community, but the whole of Leicestershire!
We're establishing a project where young people get a chance to prepare one-hour sessions packed with interactive activities and debates for School children, College crews, and University students!
The aim is not only to spread awareness about this increasing social issue, but to also create a generation filled with fighters! It's simple ... the more we fight, the more likely this issue can be decreased.
Trials taking place during Domestic Violence Week in November. If success brews, we will continue this through for a while!
So come ... join us ... and let us create a better future where everyone can see that it is best when we are LOVING WITHOUT ABUSE!

Remembrance
Between 19 November 2008 and 19 November 2008, in Truro
This year is the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, which heralded the end of the First World War. To coincide with this the BBC is launching a campaign 1918-2008: Ninety Years of Remembrance.
The new campaign aims to record people's experiences of the First World War both at home and abroad. A special event is being held on Saturday 8 November 2008 at the Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry Museum in Bodmin.
Agents 4 Change also wants to hear from you about first hand accounts of life during the First World War or the experiences of your relatives or friends who lived through the conflict.
The Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry played a prominent role in the First World War - with troops fighting on the Western Front, which covered France and Flanders. They were involved in the infamously bloody Battle of the Somme in France and the Battle of Passchendaele near the town of Ypres in Belgium.
Soldiers also fought in battles in Italy, Serbia, Salonika, the Gaza strip and Palestine.
It was not only the men who went away. Many women joined the British Red Cross Society and were sent to the hospitals on the front.
Volunteers spent the weeks leading up to Remembrance distributing posters and leaflets around bodmin and other parts of Cornwall to get people to come along and share their memories.
Over 400 people turned up to show their support due to our encouragement of youngsters the message had a knock on effect and whole families turned up on the day some of them with four generations.

1918-2008: 90 Years of Remembrance
Between 08 November 2008 and 08 November 2008, in Manchester
Six Agents4Change volunteers and I spent the day at the Imperial War Museum to help out with this national campaign. We were all there to help members of the public contribute to the online wall of remembrance with stories about their relatives that served in the First World War.
It turned out to be a matter of quality rather than quantity, as we had approximately 70 people walk through our doors to share their stories. One volunteer spent over three hours with one couple of old ladies, who had brought in old letters, photographs and medals from her family! These artefacts have now been scanned and her story added to the online wall, which will consequently preserve such in-depth information for years to come.
Other people came along to get some help with researching their family history. One gentleman found out where his great uncle had served, as well as his medical history and his disciplinary records - all of which were unknown to him previously. He was delighted to find scanned documents online, which pieced his story together.
This event illustrated some fantastic inter-generational work, with both young and old eager to support each other over the course of the day. All the volunteers came away with the achievement of having helped many people share their stories and the privilege of learning so many family histories.

Don't Write Us Off South Yorkshire!
Between 07 November 2008 and 31 December 2008, in Sheffield
"Young people are all the same: loud-mouthed, rude and anti-social."
Is this a fair reflection of every young person in the UK today? The Don't Write Us Off campaign from Agents4Change seeks to challenge this view, inviting young people to speak out against ‘hoodie' culture.
We took the campaign to the streets on Saturday 6th December to show South Yorkshire what young people are really like and get their voices heard.
The campaign is backed in South Yorkshire by the Sheffield Youth Council. The Council exists to bring together young people's voices, views and opinions to influence political activities and to help change Sheffield to benefit young people.
The campaign continues with more workshops and activities to get more young people speaking about their communities and the difference which they themselves can make.
We're always looking for more young volunteers to help out so demand something different and get your voice heard. Sign up now.

A Phab Way to Make A Difference
Between 01 November 2008 and 01 November 2008, in Reading
What do you get if you take a group of local young people and mix them with a load of paint, a dash of glue and a bucket full of colouring pens? An amazing Make A Difference Day that's what!
Young people with disabilities from the Berkshire Phab Family Centre suggested the themes. University students from the Reading Audio Visual Enterprise Society created the design. The result was a collaboration which showed that the young people of Reading really do care about making their local area part of a fully inclusive society.
A mixture of paint and collage, volunteers created an original piece of art that brought together music genres, animals, and the globe. Using handprints to make the world at the centre of the picture, drawings and magazine cut outs depicting anything from rap to rabbits were then placed around the edges.
Sue Paver, a Trustee of Berkshire Phab Family Centre, described what she believed her young people took from the day: "Phab is a charity dedicated to promoting the integration of people with and without disabilities. We believe that we need to challenge negative attitudes towards disability, and art is able to do that by allowing everybody to see themselves valued for the contribution they make."
After the centre has received some much needed TLC, the picture will be hung for all visitors to see. Not only that, but the team of university volunteers were invited back to run a similar workshop in the future - proof that a difference definitely was made!

Broke and Broken - Students in the Red Engage the Public on Big Red Bus
Between 01 November 2008 and 28 November 2008, in Liverpool
Over 20 Agents4Change volunteers from Liverpool's three univerisites - University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores, and Hope - took to the streets of the city yesterday, for a day of campiagning about the financial crisis facing students at the moment.
The volunteers drove around Liverpool in a big red bus. Here they met members of the public, inviting them onboard to discuss their campaign, tuition fees, student debt, and asked people to sign postcards to lobby their MPs.
The tour took in Calderstones School, where pupils looking forward to A-Levels and beyond, were talked to about their financial future and asked to join the campaign.
The day was organised by leaders from the three student unions. University of Liverpool Guild of Students President, Danielle Grufferty, expressed her delight at the sucess of the day.
"In this national campaign, Liverpool activists put on the biggest day. We got hundreds of postcards signed, which hope to include the NUS in the next round of discussion on the future of top-up fees. We appeared on many local radio stations or newspapers, and this is a campaign which will run and run."
University of Liverpool Fundraising Coordinator, Jennifer Anderson, 28, thanked all the Agents4Change volunteers for being so committed to this cause.
THIS IS A CONTINUING CAMPAIGN! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING THIS CAMPAIGN, PLEASE EMAIL TO GET INVOLVED.

1918-2008: 90 Years of Remembrance
Between 16 October 2008 and 10 November 2008, in Liverpool
This November we celebrate 90 years since Armistice. We need you to help us be research assistants for the day!
On Friday 7th November, we are looking for volunteers to help add to the BBC's living history project. Remembrance Day is a vital time of year for Britain, making sure we never forget what our parents or grandparents went through during the wars.
We need volunteers to meet with older generations to discuss what went on in World War 1, and record their stories, so they can be later added to the body of work on the BBC Remembrance website, available at http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/remembrance.
We will leave the City Centre at 12.30 on Friday 7th October, to travel to the Active Age Centre in Clubmoor, where all volunteers will need is a willingness to chat with older people, and record their, or their families, war time memories through note taking and discussion. We will be finished by 4pm, and travel back to the City Centre together.
Add something to the BBC Ninety Years of Remembrance - get involved.
