The Sunflower Collection

Between 04 June 2009 and 05 June 2009, in Manchester

The Sunflower Collection

Can you spare any time between 8am and 5pm?  A morning?  An afternoon?  Or simply a 2 hour slot?

...Then we would like to hear from you!  Give up a little time to help this local charity with their street fundraising event of the year.  Based in the city centre, you will join a team of 30 volunteers, be given T-Shirts, buckets and lots of refreshments during your shift!

St Ann's Hospice is an independent charity and providing care free of charge to over 3,000 with life-threatening illnesses people across Greater Manchester each year as well as supporting their family and friends.  It costs around £9 million a year to run St Ann's Hospice across 3 sites.  We receive around a third of our funding from the local Primary Care Trusts which means we need to raise around £16,000 every day ourselves to keep our doors open.   It is only through the support of all the local community that enables St Ann's Hospice to continue providing its wide range of services and the highest standard of care to patients, families and carers

Please get in contact on manchester@comcats.org.uk for more details and to sign up to the challenge!

BBC WM Kidney Kids Appeal- Mobile Phone Recycling

Between 08 December 2008 and 29 June 2009, in Birmingham

BBC WM Kidney Kids Appeal- Mobile Phone Recycling

The BBC WM Kidney Kids appeal began in July 2008 with the aim of raising £1.5 million for a new renal unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital. So far various fundraising events have raised over £360,000 and we're hoping to boost this total even further with the new campaign to recycle mobile phones.

Volunteers will be needed to promote the campaign and also to arrange collections in their place of work, school or university. If you'd like to help out this excellent cause then get in touch! Alternatively you can post your old mobiles to: Freepost, Weee Recycle Mobiles, and write Kidney Kids on the back of the envelope.  To find out more about the appeal go to www.bbc.co.uk/wm
