Newlife Jewellery Stock Challenge

Between 20 March 2009 and 22 November 2009, in Leeds

Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children is a leading charity supporting disabled and terminally ill children throughout the UK. They provide support, advice and vital pieces of equipment such as wheelchairs and specialist beds.

At present Newlife have over 500 boxes of jewellery, donated from leading High Street stores. They estimate that each box is worth at least £300. In total this jewellery is worth over £150,000.

Your challenge is to take one of these boxes of jewellery and make as much money as you can from it for Newlife.

There are no strict rules or regulations about how you make money from this jewellery (as long as it is legal!) and you can be as creative as you like. All that Newlife ask is you raise as much as you can in an agreed time - usually up to one month.

Perhaps you could hold a party to sell jewellery to your friends or family?

Perhaps you could organise a fashion show?

Perhaps you could hold a raffle or set up a stall to attract customers?


Even the damaged jewellery can be used to make tactile cards or pieces of artwork that can be sold on. It really is up to you how you decide to take on your challenge.  There's no need to feel pressured - just sell what you can!


100% of the money you raise on behalf of Newlife Foundation will go to provide equipment for disabled and terminally ill children in your area.
